Food Chain
Food Web
The main source of energy for this biome would be the sun. The producer is grass because almost every animal here would not survive if there wasn't grass. The fluctuations in the numbers of each organism might affect the other. For example if there weren't enough snakes then hawks would become scarce because they don't have a food source. Also this would limit population growth. Also invasive species could be very harmful to the native species. An example of an invasive specie would be the leafy spurge. It is a perennial weed a foreign country that reproduce from seed to vegetative root buds. This weed can reduce rangeland cattle carrying capacity by 50 to 75 percent. About half of this loss is from decreased grass production. This is harming the cattle population. Cattle will not graze in dense leafy spurge strands and these areas are a 100 percent loss to producers.
